On a small, cross-functional group in the capacity of a UX designer and subject matter expert, I worked to make incremental UI improvements to the website by investigating analytics across the website. We used Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to study how people were finding and using the top five most popular pages from each of the 40+ page templates on the phila.gov platform. We then discussed, proposed, and designed solutions that could be quickly implemented in the spirit of making small but impactful, rapid improvements to our product without being weighed down by the timelines of multiple, larger projects. By monitoring the performance of these pages before and after design changes we implemented, we were able to use an iterative approach to refine the solutions and ensure they were having the intended effect.
